[Upcoming Event]: High-Level Business Round Table – What does net zero by 2050 mean for businesses?

Time/Date: Thursday, April 22, 2021 / 14:00 KST | Hybrid (Online & In-person)

Location: GGGI Seoul HQ (3F Jeongdong Building)

In time for the Leader’s Climate Summit on Earth Day, the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) and the US Embassy Seoul will organize a High-Level Business Round Table on April 22, with Mr. Ban Ki-moon, President and Chair of GGGI and 8th Secretary-General of the United Nations and Mr. Rob Rapson, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim, US Embassy Seoul. The upcoming Round Table will provide an opportunity to gain insights on the new direction the US will take on climate change and help businesses better understand the importance of supporting climate action and implementing net zero targets by 2050. The Campaign for Blue Skies and Net Zero 2050 in the Republic of Korea, jointly headed by GGGI and the Climate Change Center, has attracted more than 40 partners, including as new joiners LG Energy Solution, Australian Chamber of Commerce, European Chamber of Commerce, Pepper Savings Bank, Wind Mobility, and embassies of Norway and Chile. To date only a limited number of companies in Korea have joined the Race to Net Zero or equivalent actions. During the High-Level Business Round Table, discussions will focus on strengthening corporate sustainability commitments in line with commitments many US companies have made.
