Srinath Komarina

Srinath is working with the Government of Vietnam to develop its green bond market. His role includes providing policy advice to the Vietnamese government on Vietnam’s green bond market development based on his strong international green bond experience. Srinath also plays an important role in promoting two-way exchanges and fostering partnerships between relevant international green bond institutions and those in Viet Nam and implement components of GGGI’s Green Bond Readiness Program in Viet Nam. In this role he is supporting Vietnamese potential issuers to successfully issue green bonds.

Prior to joining GGGI, Srinath was leading the Climate Finance unit at a leading Indian private sector Bank. His work involved pioneering Green Bonds in the Indian Banking space. His inclusive and innovative approach towards stakeholder engagement has so far led to creation of market transforming financial mechanisms like 3 Green Bond issuances, SDG Linked products, Blended Finance and Credit Enhancements which were leveraged for providing access to finance for Bottom of the Pyramid. Srinath also advised the Indian Central Bank on developing the Green Finance road map for India.

Before that he was a management consultant with EY & KPMG advising clients on their climate/ESG strategies including policy advocacy with Governments and successfully set up the sustainability advisory service line of EY in the Middle East and North Africa.

Srinath has an MBA in Environmental Management from NITIE, Mumbai and a Bachelor’s in Computer Science Engineering from JNTU, Hyderabad.
