Somphavanh is Senior Program Assistant, within the Waste Unit of GGGI Lao PDR. With a strong passion for environmental sustainability, Somphavanh’s current responsibilities include project administration, procurement, office operation, project coordination, community and stakeholder engagement, and waste management-related technical work and reporting. She is working on solid waste management projects in both Vientiane and Vang Vieng.

Before joining GGGI Lao PDR, Somphavanh was a Research Assistant and Administrative Assistant with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Lao PDR, where she contributed to the Education for Employment Sector Development Project, collaborating closely with the Ministry of Education and Sports. These experiences developed her skills in project management, research, and administration. Somphavanh holds a Higher Diploma in General English from Logos College and a Bachelor’s in Environmental Sciences from National University of Laos.
