Pamella Hellen Birungi joined GGGI at the beginning of 2018 as the Senior Communication & Knowledge Management Officer.  She is developing substantive inputs and analyses to the Rwanda Country program Communications strategy. Ensuring the delivery and reporting internally and externally of GGGI activities in line with GGGI corporate policies, standards and protocols. She is managing activities for increasing public awareness about the impact and success of GGGI and its support function to its development partners at local, regional, and international level through the development of communication materials. She is also responsible for improving the internal and sector-wide capacity to communicate the work of the fund to the wider stakeholders both at the national and international level to support knowledge sharing and lessons learnt from a south-south and north-south cooperation perspective on green financing. She works closely with all development partners , government, public and private to promote green growth as a national priority in Rwanda to build internal and external support. She is part of the National team that is planning all capacity building to GGGI Country Team,  government departments, Communication team, and Fund Management Team . As a seasoned professional she has supported and managed numerous projects in the industry for several NGO’s. Prior to relocating to Rwanda , she was the communications associate for UNFPA Regional Office, the Communications Project Manager for Dimension Data ; Comms and marketing officer for Department of Roads and Public Works and an Account Manager for Mars Technologies. Pamela is a proactive, meticulous young lady who lives by the motto ” service to others before self “. She obtained her degree in Languages & Communications in Cape Town, and several certificates in Project Management and Human Resource Management, and recently completed her MBA in 2018.
