Jean Pierre Munyeshyaka

Jean Pierre Munyeshyaka-Senior Associate, Green Urbanization for GGGI Rwanda program. He is responsible for development and coordination of implementation actions for prioritized activities in each Rwanda secondary cities, and ensure the provisions of National Roadmap for Green Secondary Cities Development, are integrated in the District urban planning and development strategies and action plans. In addition, He ensures smooth management of deliverables in each city, build partnership with different local stakeholders, coordinate and support GGGI technical assistance at district level.

Prior to joining GGGI, he worked as individual consultant for World Bank Group for Economic Geography and urbanization in Rwanda: Diagnostic and Policy Implication Study, He also worked as Urban Planning and Housing Development Local Counterpart in Rwanda Ministry of Infrastructure to develop the National Urbanization Policy in collaboration with UN-Habitat. During his stay in MININFRA, He also contributed in the development of National Roadmap for Green Secondary Cities Development.

Munyeshyaka, was fully involved and influential in review and harmonization of the urbanization and housing development institutional and regulatory framework in Rwanda. With eight years of working experience, He holds a Bachelor’s Degree with Honors in Urban and Regional Planning from the National University of Rwanda (NUR) and a Master’s degree in Development Studies from Kigali Independent University.
