Itzel Vargas Rodríguez

As Communications Assistant for the GGGI program in Mexico, Itzel Vargas is in charge of positioning GGGI’s strategic activities in the country, through the design and implementation of a communication strategy and developed of dissemination products.

Itzel has over 10 years of professional experience leading communication strategies, identifying target audiences, generating national and international campaigns in UN agencies, cooperation organizations, and national and local governments. Before joining GGGI, Itzel worked at the United Nations Development Program, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, UN Women, and the International Youth Organization for Ibero-America.

Itzel holds a M. Sc. in Institutional and Political Communication from the University of Santiago de Compostela-Ortega y Gasset University Research Institute (Madrid, Spain) and a B.A. in Communication Sciences from De La Salle Bajío University.  She speaks Spanish and English fluently.
