Diana Pérez G.

Diana Pérez is the Forest and Climate Change Officer for GGGI’s Colombia Program. In her current role, she supports the implementation and monitoring of the Deforestation Control Policy (CONPES 4021/2020) with the National Planning Department and the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development of Colombia. Also, she supports and implements the environment and sustainable development activities of GGGI’s projects/programmes related to natural capital, deforestation, forest management, and climate change mitigation and adaptation.

She has worked for more than 12 years in the environmental sector (public and private). Prior to GGGI, she worked on the formulation of the strategic plan for National Natural Parks in Colombia; she led and supported the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development in a Research Project on the environmental and social impacts of mining activity and the illegal exploitation of minerals in ecosystems Colombian territory (Sentence T-445 of 2016). As an Environmental Expert at United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime Colombia, she supported the strategic articulation between entities of the National Government that have competences in the fight against deforestation and associated crimes, facilitating the implementation of projects and dialogue between institutions.

She’s a Biologist and Environmental Specialist. She loves traveling and getting to know new places, especially natural environments.
