Various civil society organizations in Senegal successively attended the three day training sessions of the workshop from July 13 to 15 in Dakar, on the road to COP26 to be held in November 2021. Mr. Mamadou Konate, Senior Advisor on behalf of the Senegal Country Representative, provided opening remarks of the event, emphasizing the importance of civil society organizations to support climate action and build back resiliency.

The capacity building component of the workshop was led by Aissatou Mbaye, GGGI Partner Consultant, who conducted training modules on climate advocacy, climate diplomacy, climate finance, and solutions and perspectives for Senegal civil society organizations.

Event discussions highlighted the current action plan and emphasized the need to create a national platform following a mapping of actors that have been realized.
