On 31 May 2022, a Partnership Agreement on the development, operation, and maintenance of the Business Development Platform (BDP) between the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) in Uzbekistan and the Consort Group Limited Liability Company under the ‘Green Rehabilitation Investment Project for Karakalpakstan Republic to address impacts of the Aral Sea crisis,’ funded by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and implemented by GGGI was signed.

The BDP is a digital platform for farmers, MSMEs, and institutional enablers involved in the agriculture and environmental sectors in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, which will be a mechanism to establish an enabling business environment for the agriculture and environmental sectors aimed at building sustainable landscapes.

Mrs. Nargiza Kushakova, Consort Group LLC. Director, emphasized that this partnership will help local farmers, agri-business entrepreneurs, and other agricultural stakeholders to reach information on green business.

Dr. Aaron Russell, GGGI Uzbekistan Country Representative, emphasized that GGGI and Consort Group LLC will make joint efforts to engage various potential partners to scale up and increase BDP’s impact. The BDP Concept will be presented to a broader range of stakeholders at the 2022 Aral Sea Strategy and Business Development Forum, tentatively planned for 22 June 2022.
