GGGI signs MoU with KOICA to expand areas of collaboration in green growth options for developing countries

Seoul Korea, October 13, 2021 – The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) at the KOICA headquarters in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province today. The MoU was signed by Dr. Frank Rijsberman, Director-General of GGGI and Dr. Hyuk-Sang Sohn, President of KOICA.

This MoU is an amendment of the MoU signed between GGGI and KOICA in the year 2018. The amended MoU has expanded areas of GGGI-KOICA collaboration, including the development cooperation of ODA projects, Green ODA, and Green Climate Fund (GCF) projects.

The MoU will facilitate stronger strategic partnership and close collaboration between GGGI and KOICA to promote joint project development, conduct joint mission and implement KOICA projects as a strategic partner in the area of green growth and climate resilient project in developing partner countries to achieving their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) under the Paris Climate Agreement.

The MoU comes into force from the date it was signed. GGGI and KOICA will continue to communicate effectively through regular consultations to revise ongoing cooperation activities and identify opportunities and follow-up activities for enhancing collaboration.
