Early Stages of Solar Power Plant in Bangka, Pangkal Pinang

Directorate General of Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources worked together with the State Electric Utility Company and GGGI to monitor the preparation to facilitate a purchase agreement of 1 MWp on-grid solar PV power plant to be interconnected with the existing network in Bangka, Pangkal Pinang, on March 12, 2020.

This event was held to support the nation’s sustainable development to increase energy resilience, corresponding to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources’ policy No. 10/2012 and as a form of the local government’s commitment in pursuing Renewable Energy (RE). The on-grid solar PV power plant project was done back in 2013, and the handover was conducted in 2019. The submission process of the power purchase agreement is under preparation to utilize the facility and as a contribution of RE in the National Energy Mix. This agreement is expected to boost regional budget and to be RE’s educational platform.

This is not the first time that the Directorate General of Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources worked together with GGGI. In the past, the two institutions worked together in supporting the local government in obtaining power purchase agreement from the State Electric Utility Company in other nationally funded RE projects, such as 1 MWp on-grid solar PV power plant in Pangkajene Islands Regency, South Sulawesi.
