The GGGI Senegal Country Representative visited the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Senegal. His Excellency KIM Ji-Joon to further mark the quality of relations between GGGI and the Republic of Korea.

With 6 months since he took his official position in Senegal, H.E. Ambassador shared his appreciation of Senegal with regard to the support to development offered by Korean agencies operating in the territory. He specifically highlighted the main themes on which they have projects under implementation, especially agriculture, in the northern region of Senegal.

The two authorities discussed the implementation of ongoing projects in the Senegal River Valley, including solar irrigation for climate-smart agriculture in the departments of Podor and Dagana. These exchanges opened perspectives for sharing experiences on the key factors of success of a project implemented in Podor and an invitation to the GGGI Country Representative to take part in the Forum on Solar Irrigation in Agriculture to take place in the first week of March 2022.

It was also noted that a schedule for a joint review and update on GGGI’s intervention in Senegal, with H.E. KIM, to report on the progress of the Senegal program.
