Building sector community of practice discussion with key actors

Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso; May 20th, 2022 – The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), in collaboration with UN Habitat, Order of Architects of Burkina Faso, and the Ministry of Urban Planning, Land Affairs and Housing, organized a technical workshop on the newly founded energy efficiency Community of Practice and the capacity building needs of its members.

This meeting focused on:

  • missions and roles within the Community of Practice,
  • its formalization
  • capacity building needs on passive cooling and energy efficiency among the members.

More than twenty participants, from the public and private sector and associations took part in this meeting. National structures working in climate change mitigation and universities in the field of buildings were also invited.

This Community of Practice will contribute to sustainability in the building and construction sector by disseminating knowledge and good practices on sustainable cooling and energy efficiency which is one of the key outputs of the Social Housing Energy Efficiency Cooling Project (SHEECP), implemented by GGGI and financed by the Clean Cooling Collaborative.
