February 16th, 2022, a courtesy call was held between GGGI Country Representative Mrs. Olola VIEYRA and His Excellency Mr. Robert Beugré MAMBE, Minister Governor of the Autonomous District of Abidjan at the City Hall.
This meeting aimed at presenting GGGI’s actions in Côte d’Ivoire and prospects for collaboration in the field of green finance and implementation of the Abidjan climate plan

| Mrs Vieyra presented the actions carried out by GGGI at the global level and more specifically at national level. She underlined the importance of holding this meeting before the official launch of the new GCF readiness project on 24 February 2022, which aims to “Support for the Establishment of a National Green Building and Infrastructure Financing Vehicle, Development of Green Building Minimum Compliance System, and DAE Application in Côte d’Ivoire”.
The district of Abidjan is an important stakeholder on this project as it is expected to develop the Green City strategy for Abidjan District.

| The governor expressed great interest in working with GGGI on concrete actions such as waste management, energy production through biomass or else e-mobility, and will set a cabinet up a team to develop a pipeline of climate project which would surely increase the population resilience.
At the end of these fruitful discussion, both institutions expressed their commitment to cooperate on the mobilisation of financial resources to make Abidjan a green and sustainable city.
